Our school

The Foundation is a Christian international private school for primary and secondary education. Our school is founded on the desire to teach and raise our children in a protected environment, based on God’s Word.

This is why the school is named ‘The Foundation’. Raising and teaching children is about laying a foundation in their lives. And Jesus Christ is THE Foundation. “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11

Our teaching is biblically centered. The entire ACE curriculum used at The Foundation is based on and centered around the Bible. We find it more important that a child knows God and lives with Him than that he or she reaches an academic level. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” Proverbs 9:10a. The emphasis is on character building and personality development. Emphasis on learning instead of being taught. Our vision and desire is that children are equipped to go out and reach out to others, learn to serve and develop gifts to be a blessing in society.

Private

The Foundation is an international Christian school for primary and secondary education. As a private school, we are not financed by the government but by monthly contributions from parents and donations. The costs of the PACEs are also paid by the parents themselves.

International

Except for the subjects Dutch and Citizenship, The Foundation is not subject to the Dutch education inspectorate. We are registered as a B4 school. The school is affiliated with the British organization CEE (Christian Education Europe), and is supervised by ICCE (International Certificate of Christian Education). They were accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in 2012. Parents who send their children to The Foundation comply with the Dutch compulsory education law.

Christian

Parenting and education lay the foundation for children's lives. Jesus Christ is THE Foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11). The name of our school refers to this.

School

The Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum is based on fundamental principles from the Word of God. Children learn to see life from God's perspective. They also learn to take responsibility in their own learning process.

Curriculum

The Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) education program is of very high quality, was created in America in 1970 and is now used in more than 140 countries worldwide.

The ACE concept is based on five basic laws of learning:
• Children must be able to learn at their own level;
• Achievable goals must be set;
• Skills need to be checked, children motivated;
• Learning must be measurable;
• Learning should be rewarded.

The ACE model adapts to your child's learning speed. It allows your child to progress independently in the educational program, and not as a group. He or she will be given a preliminary diagnostic test to determine current academic abilities and weaknesses. Your child will then be placed at his/her own learning level per subject.

The children learn by setting daily goals and are challenged by keeping track of their own performance. This allows him/her to visualize and plan his/her own daily progress. This places the responsibility for learning on the child itself and ensures personal development.

The Biblical value of excellence in everything we do has been translated into ‘mastering’ subject content. Children must have mastered a minimum of 80% and sometimes 90% of the material before they can proceed to the next level.

ACE's education program effectively equips children for higher education or the workplace.
Children are helped and encouraged (throughout all subjects) to know, understand and apply the Word of God, so that they approach life situations from a Biblical perspective. More substantive and practical explanations can be found via the button below.

Mission and vision

The Foundation wants to help parents raise and equip their children so that they can leave school independently, spiritually, socially, financially, emotionally and practically, and take their place in society with a well-formed Christian identity. After all, the Lord is looking for 'a godly offspring' Malachi 2:15b. We believe from the Bible that children are not the property of their parents or the state, but of God (Psalm 127:3). Parents are stewards of God's property. Their precious and responsible mission is to raise these children to become godly offspring (Malachi 2:15 and Deuteronomy 6:5-7).
